BYOD is "bring your own device" and an emergent trend in education

At the 2012 Learning@Hand conference, by the Queensland Government, Department of Education and Training’s Division of Indigenous Education and Training Futures, I presented on what the "Post-PC Era" means for learning.

In my presentation, I noted the massive shift to mobile devices, the excitement this is brining to ICT in education, and the reality that often the focus on the shiny, flashy gadget eclipses efforts to improve teacher professional development, pedagogy, curriculum, and content, all of which are arguably more important than the technology.
