It’s #FailFriday! Today’s tip comes from Joe Ribaudo, a Solution Provider Marketing Manager at @constantcontact. Joe used to write boring subject lines for his emails when he was a Constant Contact customer.
When you’re competing for your readers’ attention, subject lines like “June Newsletter” just won’t cut it. Your subject line is really important because it’s the first impression you’ll make on your readers. The goal of a subject line is to stand out in the inbox, grab your readers’ attention, and convince them to open your email. Some tips you can try: keep your subject lines short and sweet around 40 characters (they could get cut off by mobile devices), avoid spammy language like “buy now” or “free,” try asking a question, include a deadline, or try a list (like 5 Tips to Write a Great Subject Line).
